The Black Eyes by RandomMumble The Black Eyes by RandomMumble
I actually really like the movie Snape, too. (I see the movies and the books as two different things)
But there was one thing I really didn't get...
There is this poster with Alan Rickman and it looks gorgeous , but I think not very snape-ish - way too 'commonly handsome' for my taste - but I could've lived with that. What really grinded my gears was the eyes!
On the poster they were clearly brown - but Severus Snape has black eyes. (I think if it were differently J.K.Rowling would have written something like 'his eyes were of such a dark brown they nearly seemed to be black' but she didn't. She gave him black eyes... so where have the black eyes gone?
The fluffier the hair got the lighter the eyes, it seems. =D

At first I wanted to put this picture in my scrapbook - but I like it enough to call it a 'finished work' =D

I voted on a poll from :iconvizen: where she asked what the first thing is we see when we think about Snape. That reminded me of my dilemma with that poster - so this picture is also inspired by her poll! =)

No copyright infringement intended!
The whole HP story belongs to J.K.Rowling.

ps. I do realize his skin is greenish +laughs+ - it was just black and white at first, then I tried a natural skin colour, didn't like it - tried a bluish, like I tried before; didn't like it - tried yellowish, didn't like it - in the end I decided to stick with this tone. maybe he's just had something bad for dinner. ;P

I've never been a fan of movie Snape, personally (I like Alan in other roles, he just isn't Snape for me), and I'm glad you've given him proper black eyes! I love how you've given him dark circles as well--he would have them, wouldn't he? :D

Do you know about DI or Color correction process which doing on every movie - shot on film or by digital? So nobody knows which color was that contact lenses which actor used for filming or promo shots for posters etc:) BUT! If color still can be seen there - it wasn't black.
Potter in movie also have blue eyes, not green :)

I do like his skin tone! Green, unhealthy colour though it is, suits him. :D
I've seen the poster you're referring to, and I agree: it looks gorgeous, but I found that brown eyes (actually, that's the colour of MY eyes) too 'warm' for Snape...

Nice :) I'd recommend putting in some little sparkles to make them "glitter" as the books say :D I think the paleness is fine. I can understand your struggles with arriving at a right color. Sometimes it's not exactly about the color you are laying down on the skin, but the colors around it that it's interacting with. For example, in one room your skin may look very pale under early morning light. If you were then to snap a photo, put it in a painting program and eyedrop the skin to find out what color it was, it may actually be blue! And yet, it appeared to be merely pale in real life because of the way it interacted with the light and tint of everything around it. Colors are weird like that.

Thank you!
(It's a good thing I always get up before dawn - I will spend the day tomorrow trying to examine skin - yes, I have much free time +grins+ - I think it could be useful, sounds like a great opportunity so thank you very much, I didn't think about that before! =) )
:eager: you're right; I didn't even remember the 'glittering' - I'll have to play around with that picture some more to try to add this. =)
Thank you so much!
