I've been working on this for several days. A whole day just for this one conifer. +groans+ and Molly's cloths - I wanted to have it look like real fabric - not plastic. Never tried that before but I'm fine with the result. And it's my very first try at drawing Molly Grue. She's my favourite!
This has to be the most detailed background I ever did - speaking off: guess how much I hate drawing grass!
But I really like how it turned out (even though I had an entirely background planned) and actually I'm quite proud of the background
- virtual cookies if you find all birds and insects +grins+
I only painted birds I know from my garden - much easier.
I totally dreaded the unicorn's mane! - but then it turned out quite appealing to me.
The unicorn itself looks still too much like a white horse to me; but much better than on the first sketch. +laughs+ However, I think it fits somehow, so I didn't change it anymore. But I want to do a drawing one day of a unicorn how I actually picture it.
btw, I changed so much - I bet I completely redid this painting several times without really noticing.
Now about the picture - I imagine this somewhat AU, but Molly had to wait a very long time for her unicorn, however.
I always wondered what her thoughts were when she accepted it like it was...
I'd love to her what you think of it. No copyright infringement intended.
